How to choose a colour copier
Three questions settle it in most cases. If you’re still unsure after this, a two-minute phone call usually sorts it out faster than a spec sheet.
Do you actually need A3?
Most offices think they do and rarely use it. If you’re printing the occasional plan, poster or spreadsheet spread, A3 earns its place. If not, an A4 machine like the C3321i or C4051i costs less, takes up less space and does the same job on everything else.
How much do you print a month?
Buying too small is the expensive mistake — an overworked machine jams, wears out early and irritates everyone. Speed roughly tracks how hard a machine is built to work, so a higher page count points up the range. Check your current meter readings before deciding.
What happens to the paper afterwards?
If documents get stapled, punched, folded or made into booklets by hand, a finisher pays for itself quickly in saved admin time. The 300-sheet-feeder models from the C451i up handle the widest range of finishing options.
Common questions
Which Konica Minolta colour copier is right for my office?
It comes down to two things: whether you need A3, and how much you print. The C3321i, C3351i and C4051i are A4-only desktop machines for smaller teams. The C251i through C751i are A3 machines, with speed climbing from 25 to 75 pages a minute as volume grows. Tell us your monthly page count and we’ll match the model — including recommending a smaller one if that’s what the numbers say.
Should I lease or buy a colour copier?
Most South African offices lease, because the machine, toner and servicing come bundled into one predictable monthly cost with no upfront capital outlay. Buying can work out cheaper over a long life if you have the cash available. We quote both side by side so you can compare the total cost over the term.
What’s the difference between A4 and A3 colour copiers?
An A4 machine prints up to standard A4 pages and is smaller and cheaper to run. An A3 machine also handles A3, SRA3 and banner stock, and generally has larger paper capacity, faster speeds and more finishing options such as stapling, hole punching and booklet making.
Do you service the copiers you sell?
Yes. We sell and service everything we supply, with our own technicians covering Gauteng and the Western Cape and a nationwide service network beyond that. The person who quotes you stays accountable for the machine after installation.
