Managed print vs doing it yourself
| Unmanaged printers | Managed print | |
|---|---|---|
| Toner | Bought ad hoc, often runs out | Sent automatically from meter alerts |
| Costs | Spread across invoices and petty cash | One cost-per-copy statement |
| Faults | Someone notices, then calls around | Flagged by Remote Care, logged with us |
| Security | Prints left on trays | Secure release at the device |
Managed print questions
Is managed print only for large companies?
No. Offices with as few as 3 to 5 printers often save by consolidating to one or two shared devices.
Do we have to replace all our printers?
No. We start with what you have and only replace devices where it lowers cost or improves service.
How is managed print billed?
Usually as a fixed monthly cost for the machine, with toner and servicing billed per page printed (cost per copy).
Can you report print volumes by department?
Yes, with PaperCut print management we can show volumes per user or department.
